The lovely color photograph that tops the gallery is actually a small photo from a series of 24 cigarette collector's cards called Rothman's Beauties Of The Cinema. The collection, issued about 1933, also featured full color portraits of Jean Harlow, Norma Shearer, Loretta Young, and others. The card's photograph, depicting June in the dress she wore for the famous "orange blossom" scene in WILD BEAUTY (1927), came with the following caption: "Born in St. Cloud, USA, and started on an art career before making her film debut in "Don Juan" in 1925. Has many important films to her credit." DON JUAN was released in 1926, was not June's film debut, and, while she may have contemplated an art career, began work in film fresh out of high school.
