(Also referred to as "The Devil On Deck")

A Sono Art / World Wide Pictures Release
March 1932 - 6 Reels
Directed by Wallace W. Fox

FEATURED CAST
Reed Howes
Molly O'Day
Wheeler Oakman
and
June Marlowe (as Mary Moore)

June's final performance is a brief one.  Her character would be killed off early in the film.

June again plays the familiar part of a young innocent. This time, however, she is shanghaied by an evil ship captain, is terrorized, and eventually murdered.  Her brother, played by former "Arrow Shirt Man" Reed Howes, plots revenge.  He gets it.

Film Daily referred to it as a "South Seas melodrama."  Photoplay stated "Nothing particularly new about this story or the handling."  While the review felt the acting was good, it summed it all up with a comment of  "Rather mild."

At age 29 June retired from acting.  She was to marry, travel, and enjoy her life, her friends and her family.  She never looked back and declined any further offers for film work.  Many film listings give our June credit for appearing in films in which she did not.  For a list of films erroneously attributed to June, see the Our June Marlowe? page.

This film is unavailable for viewing.
