Before the release of "Tracked In The Snow Country" (the second of the six films June would co-star with Rin-Tin-Tin), Warner Brothers cast June in yet another Irene Rich vehicle.
Based upon a novel by German novelist Max Kretzer, the film was a starring vehicle for Irene Rich and comedian Willard Lewis, although the film itself was anything but a comedy.

June yet again plays an innocent, this time one who is preyed upon by an unscrupulous cad to whom she is engaged (she makes out okay by the film's end and the villain gets his just desserts).  Reading the storyline of this potboiler makes one long for the "simplicity" of a soap opera plot!  June's screen time actually matched that of the stars', even though she was listed only in a supporting role.

The St. Cloud Daily Times reported "The studio has the difficult problem of hiding (June's) beauty in the individuality of a girl whose only claim to loveliness is her purity of heart and her unswerving devotion for a man who does not love her."  It also noted the following anecdote: "In her makeup for the picture she looks so unlike June Marlowe that Harry Warner, who placed her under contract, and James Flood, her director, passed the star twice on the lot without recognizing her."

The "unlovely" June and the cad (Willard Lewis).

With regards to the way Warner Brothers was casting June, a pattern had now developed.  June's roles would be either in support of one of Warners' stars, or as the featured female opposite their top box office draw Rin Tin Tin.  It was one of these popular canine films that June would appear in next.

This film is unavailable for viewing.
