June Marlowe, Universal's film star, and a girl who spent her school days as a resident of St.
Cloud, last night greeted her admirers of this city with a personal appearance at the Sherman theatre which followed the showing
of one of her earlier pictures. The theatre was packed with an appreciative audience. Miss Marlowe's appearance last night was a result of numerous requests from Sherman patrons and was non-professional. She expressed herself as happy for an opportunity to see a greater number of her friends. After the showing of "The Stroke Of Twelve," the screen star was introduced on the stage by Fred Larkin manager of the theatre, at which time she was presented with a beautiful basket of flowers. Her talk was marked by sweet simplicity. She briefly thanked her admirers for the reception they have given her, and told them that she would cherish memories of her visit. She was dressed in an outfit of floral print chiffon with a jacket of transparent velvet. This morning Miss Marlowe received word to go to her home in Hollywood. Leaving tomorrow morning, she will motor to the Twin Cities where she will make a formal call at the Universal office there. She will proceed from Minneapolis by train. End Of Article |
